BANANAS

Bananarama were my ULTIMATE 80's girl band

When I was mini I totally idolised Sara, Keren and Siobhan, with their messy hair, BOY London clothes and boxing boots they were the kind of cool, fun girl we all wanted to grow up to be.
They started out as super-sulky cool pop chicks, collaborating with Fun Boy Three, doing 60's girl band covers and writing their own songs... and ended up moving to glossy pop hit factory Stock Aitken and Waterman with an eventual line-up change... and whilst it wasn't the same without Siobhan Fahey, who went on to be in Shakespeare's Sister, I loved every minute of it!

I especially love the Cruel Summer video below where they terrorise the NYPD with banana skins

There are toooo many faves to choose from but here are my top 5: for now....

And a bonus track purely for French & Saunders jokes with Kathy Burke :)
